So my trip started in Copenhagen airport at 7.50 pm. It was a really hard goodbye, and I was super nervous and scared. My plane was delayed for an hour, which meant that I almost missed my plane in London - that was my first stop. I barely made it in London, and got ready for an 11 hour flight... tough one! Luckily I got some sleep since there was a free seat between me and another lady. Then I landed at Hongkong, where I had to wait for 6.5 hours. It was a loooong wait, I was very tired and sick of travelling alone at this point, and I had no idea that it would feel that terrible to leave home again. I must say that I was a bit surprised, and the nervousness caught me totally off guard. My plane boarded and I was 8 hours from Adelaide. That flight was very long as well, I didn't get much sleep, but it wasn't bad. At Adelaide airport I went through security which was very throughout - she even read my danish notes in my carry-on and asked what it said as well as asking about my shoes that has a plateau - it could contain something ;-)
Finally I got out and met Aldo. He wasn't hard to find and we quickly went off. Aldo is a very nice guy, just as expected. We drove the 40 minutes from the airport back to Aldo's place in the Adelaide hills. It's so beautiful here! You drive through the city and suddenly you drive through outback and come into a whole other world. It's very green and there's lots of animals - Aldo says that sometimes even some wild kangaroos come by, and at night you might spot a koala. None of that has happened yet, but I'll tell you if it does.
For now I'll be staying at Aldo's house, but it wont be many days until I move into an apartment in town with two other girls - that has already been arranged, so that's great.
I'm still really tired. I was forced not to go to bed until evening, which meant that I had been staying awake for way too many hours. Then I could not sleep at all. I finally managed to fall asleep, but was woken up at 8.30 in order to make my body and brain fit the days. It was hard! I'm still slightly nervous and scared, it sort of changes throughout the day. Sometimes I'm excited to do this and other times it feels like the worst idea ever and that 6 months is a very long time. I can tell that it's mostly in the evenings I get nervous, and as we're speaking I feel it in my stomach. It's annoying really.
But oh well, I'm landed safe and sound!
